The Beaton Institute, Cape Breton Regional Library, Fortress Louisbourg Association and Parks Canada have partnered to launch Through Her Eyes: Katharine McLennan, an online exhibit documenting the life and accomplishments of Katharine McLennan (1892-1975). Katharine is credited with bringing to national awareness the history and cultural resources of the Fortress Louisbourg.
Katharine’s experience as an artist, a WWI nurse’s aide, researcher, historian and curator is brought to life through archival photographs, correspondence, and artwork from the collections of the Beaton Institute, Cape Breton Regional Library, and Parks Canada.
